A makeshift television studio for the VTC7 channel is the most recurrent setting and setting in this new Max Bellocchio film. In this studio, in front of a camera, Stefano Rossi decides to make public the extortion to which he has subjected the movie star Helmut Rauker. Exclusively and without mincing words, he confesses to having set the veteran actor a trap and having leaked the photos in which he has sex with a prostitute.

In a show of sincerity, Mr. Rossi explains what he and his partner, Anita, have been through. Five years ago, Anita wanted to be an actress and they came to Rauker Studios to start their career on cinema. Months later, Stefano knew about that his girlfriend had been sexually abused by the actor with the promise of getting a role in a movie. However, this contract was never formalized. Here Max, the director, was prophetic, because the Harvey Weinstein scandal had not yet broken out.

Three weeks ago, fate smiled at the couple and served them on a platter the possibility of revenge. It goes without saying that justification in the form of revenge will not take away the iron from his crimes of extortion in front of a court, in a hypothetical trial.

The real story begins in the Caribbean, when the Rossi couple check in at the resort. At the same reception they are given notice, as a result of the problems they have been having in recent days. Actor Helmut Rauker stays at a nearby villa and goes down to dinner at the resort restaurant frequently, but hates being disturbed or asked for photos. That is why the bellhop warns all newcomers.

Helmut, in addition to the resort restaurant, likes whores and even more so if they are natives. One of the bodyguards brings him Cristina, a very accommodating mulatto woman, who accompanies him to the terrace of the mansion, with the lesson learned.

Rossi continues with the interview, and explains that  they discovered very early that Helmut's bodyguards are staying at the same hotel. The couple agreed that Anita should seduce one of the bodyguards to get closer to the German actor little by little.

Anita put the rod in the hotel cocktail bar, and around midnight Pierre approached, who very soon took the bait, offering to go on an excursion the next day. He's a French bodyguard, which Anita doesn't dislike, her pupils bright with desire.

Meanwhile, Helmut, oblivious to the danger that lies ahead, lives life at full speed, hiring a private hairdresser at the resort, and thinking about his film, which will be shot in Los Angeles starting next week.

Anita and Pierre go to the natural park, to see the river, forests and birds, where they take a short boat ride before loving each other on the shore, in full view of the curious.

Stefano, annoyed at being aware that Anita has fucked Pierre, decides to continue entertaining the bodyguard, whom he already calls a friend, but pulling his checkbook. He sends a couple of prostitutes, one of them nailing Jennifer Aniston, him and his friend, to Helmut's house. In compensation, Pierre provides them with information about Helmut's friends on the island, and the actor's weaknesses: the mulatto women (something the viewer already knew) or the Chinese girls.

They contact one of Mr. Rauker's best friends, and decide to seduce him with Anita, always up for revenge on a cold plate, and another slut, although of low average quality, in an apartment in San Juan, the island's capital.

This time, both members of the couple enjoyed

The friend, unaware of the couple's plan, maintains his routine with Mr. Helmut. They hire a whore with slanted eyes and take her to the beach, where they have a threesome on the fine white sand. Apparently, Helmut made the mistake of taking the girl with a slight oriental aspect and only remained to convince one of the bodyguards, who asked for a lot of money and sex as a reward.

Dominican Republic is touristic, and then, multi cultural

Anita, again, accompanied by a brunette, they give her the payment in natural in exchange for the photos, in what appears to be Helmut Rauker's villa. You have to see how many times Anita is willing to be thrown to avenge some sexual abuse ... All for revenge.

Sauce costs more than the snails

The great sorrow invades the viewer here, since the scriptwriter deprives us of the moment in which the German actor was caught red-handed, at the height of the peak, with the beautiful girl with slanted eyes. But it is well known that it is very elegant to leave something to the imagination, teaching everything is not a good deal and it is preferable that the viewer imagine that moment of betrayal and helplessness by himself.

From here to the court

Finally, Stefano Rossi ends his deposition on TV claiming that, although the sale of the photographs brought him sumptuous profits, the important thing was to destroy the life of Helmut Rauker, even though his girlfriend had to spread her legs with three more boys.

  Sorprende la cantidad de personas que cruzan el Atlántico para pasarse una semana entera recostados sobre una tumbona de ratán, sin salir del resort del lujo que han escogido en un catálogo promocional y con el único afán de descansar y de buscar una tranquilidad digna de la piscina de Fuentecerrada, Teruel. Aquí en Europa disponemos también de unas playas alucinantes, tanto en España (véase Formentera o la Costa Brava) como en otros países como Portugal, Grecia, Croacia o en islas como Córcega y Cerdeña... ¿Quién en su sano juicio se embute en un asiento de clase turista para viajar a República Dominicana y disfrutar de unas calas similares? ¿De verdad las personas toman un vuelo de 9 horas o incluso pasajes con escala, para únicamente tomar el sol?... La respuesta es que sí. La banalidad, amigo lector, ha conquistado a la sociedad actual.

El drama de los ERE sobrevuela esta película de principio a fin, narrando las últimas vacaciones de unas compañeras de profesión, que se han visto afectadas por un reajuste de personal en la aerolínea para la que trabajaban. La filosofía del "carpe diem" ha calado hondo en sus corazones y deciden ponerla en práctica en la isla caribeña. Un planteamiento magnífico para este clásico de cine de tarde.

  It's midnight. Eve of a wedding in style. The engaged couple strolls through a manicured French garden in Barre Trigano Castle, accompanied by a third woman. - "It is my parents' house" says the future wife. This luxurious mansion has little of a house and a lot of a palace. Everything is going great, even the relationship with the sister-in-law seems to be quite cordial and the atmosphere is calm.

Un acusado tono sepia de la secuencia de apertura nos indica que estamos presenciando un evento del pasado. Es un flashback aderezado con una música digna de Ocean´s Eleven que acontece en un acogedor chalet de estilo antillano situado en Guadeloupe. Esa tonalidad es acertada hasta tal punto, que incluso la relacionamos de forma inconsciente con el calor húmedo de determinadas latitudes tropicales. Un hombre maduro con ínfulas, sombrero Panamá y puro Davidoff aguarda sentado en una mullida hamaca, al lado de una piscina calmada como plato de sopa abandonada a medio comer. Algo horrible está a punto de ocurrir...

La película comienza con una  visión panorámica de Nápoles  al final de la tarde, sobre la Avenida Antonio Gramsci, a lo largo de la playa Mappatella, con el Castell d´l Ovo al fondo. En una casa palaciega napolitana, decorada con aire neoclásico, una pareja se despide. El pobre Alessandro se marcha a un viaje de trabajo, al sombrío y desolador Kiev, quién sabe si a revisar el sarcófago de la central de Chernobil. No parece ser un viaje atractivo.
