Movie review: Private Tropical 3 "Tropical Heat" (2002) (Sandra Pusso, Jessica Fay, Melody Tragic, Kyra Rat)

This is an action thriller with reminiscenses of the 90s, and the composer Oreste Fiengo immerses us in the atmosphere with an electronic drum'n'bass and Arabic voices. The journey has begun and some passages in this film will sometimes remind us of License to Kill.

Estamos ante un thriller de acción con reminiscencias de los 90, y el compositor Oreste Fiengo nos sumerge en el ambiente con una electrónica con drum´n´bass y voces arábigas. El viaje ha comenzado y algunos pasajes de este largometraje nos recordarán, en ocasiones, a Licencia para matar.

Movie review: Private Tropical 9 "Coral Honeymoon" (2004) (Bibi Sox, Rita Very, Donna Merry)

  Max Bellochio decides to start this new edition of Private Tropical already in paradise, leaving the opening in Europe for another time. The camera flows around the island of Martinique, specifically the  Ilet Thierry , and soon focuses on a pontoon that leads to an old hotel.

Max Bellochio decide arrancar esta nueva edición de Private Tropical ya en el paraíso, dejando para otra ocasión los antipasti en Europa. La cámara fluye desde los primeros compases por la isla de Martinica, en concreto por la  Ilet Thierry , y pronto se centra en un pontón que lleva a un antiguo hotel.

  The lavish royal dome of San Gennaro, of the Naples Cathedral, places us in space. We are in Italy, at side of the Vesuvius.  The film begins with energy, with two strangers loving each other until the dawn, without yet a closed context of who they are and why they kissing and cuddleing during the whole night, in darkness.

  La fastuosa cúpula real de San Gennaro, de la Catedral de Nápoles, nos coloca en el espacio. Estamos en Italia, a los pies del Vesubio.  La película empieza con energía, con dos desconocidos amándose hasta altas horas de la madrugada, sin todavía un contexto cerrado de quiénes son y por qué aprovechan la nocturnidad.

     A makeshift television studio for the VTC7 channel is the most recurrent setting and setting in this new Max Bellocchio film. In this studio, in front of a camera, Stefano Rossi decides to make public the extortion to which he has subjected the movie star Helmut Rauker.  Exclusively and without mincing words, he confesses to having set the veteran actor a trap and having leaked the photos in which he has sex with a prostitute.

Un improvisado estudio de televisión para el canal VTC7 es el encuadre y escenario más recurrente en esta nueva película de Max Bellocchio. En dicho estudio, delante de una cámara, Stefano Rossi decide hacer pública la extorsión a la que ha sometido a la estrella de cine Helmut Rauker. En exclusiva y sin pelos en la lengua, confiesa haber tendido una trampa al veterano actor y haber filtrado las fotos en las que practica sexo con una prostituta.

  It's midnight. Eve of a wedding in style. The engaged couple strolls through a manicured French garden in Barre Trigano Castle, accompanied by a third woman. - "It is my parents' house" says the future wife. This luxurious mansion has little of a house and a lot of a palace. Everything is going great, even the relationship with the sister-in-law seems to be quite cordial and the atmosphere is calm.

Es medianoche. Víspera de una boda por todo lo alto. La pareja de prometidos pasea por un cuidado jardín del Chateau de la Barre, acompañada de una tercera mujer.  -"Es la casa de mis padres" dice la futura esposa. Todo va de maravilla, incluso la relación con la cuñada parece ser bastante cordial y el ambiente está tranquilo.

The film starts with a front shot of a Rodius-style van, approaching to the camera. What will it carry inside? Well, a film crew that has chosen a heavenly  Caribbean destination  to shoot a spot to promote an energy drink. Marketing works like this, associating sensations and experiences with a specific product, to win over potential buyers and force them to buy when they go to the supermarket.

El filme arranca con un plano frontal de una furgoneta estilo Rodius acercándose hacia la cámara. ¿Qué transportará en su interior? Pues a un equipo de rodaje que ha elegido un celestial  destino caribeño  para rodar un spot sobre una bebida energética. El marketing funciona así, asociando sensaciones y experiencias a un producto concreto, para conquistar al potencial comprador y obligarle a aflojar la mosca cuando va al supermercado.

The first film of the Private Tropical saga on Reunion Island starts aboard a yacht, not far from the coast. Captain Malcomini, his brother Francesco and another sailor take care of a rich Swedish blonde. Just arrived from Stockholm, she has rented a  ship trip  for herself and sunbathes, relaxed.

El primer largometraje de la saga  Private Tropical  en la Isla de Reunión arranca a bordo de un yate, no muy lejos de la costa. El Capitán Malcomini, su hermano Francesco y otro marinero local velan por la comodidad de una sueca de alta cuna. Recién llegada de Estocolmo, ha alquilado un viaje en barco para ella sola y toma el sol con tranquilidad.

The movie begins with a panoramic  view of Naples  before sunset, on Avenida Antonio Gramsci, along Mappatella beach, with Castell d´l Ovo in the background. In one of the Neapolitan palatial houses, decorated with a neoclassical style, a young couple says goodbye. Alessandro goes on a business trip to gloomy and desolate Kiev, who knows if to check the sarcophagus of the Chernobyl nuclear powerplant. It doesn't seem like an attractive trip.

La película comienza con una  visión panorámica de Nápoles  al final de la tarde, sobre la Avenida Antonio Gramsci, a lo largo de la playa Mappatella, con el Castell d´l Ovo al fondo. En una casa palaciega napolitana, decorada con aire neoclásico, una pareja se despide. El pobre Alessandro se marcha a un viaje de trabajo, al sombrío y desolador Kiev, quién sabe si a revisar el sarcófago de la central de Chernobil. No parece ser un viaje atractivo.

The Tropical saga hotels

The tropical saga had its glory years at the beginning of the 21st century and, undoubtedly attracted by its magnetism and by the infinite business possibilities, many hotels bid hard to do "product placement" of services. This "service placement" sought to make the target audience of this film saga, forty years old men with a subscription to Pay per view TV, relate those hotels with the intrinsic values ​​of Bellocchio's films.
